The University of Florida College of Medicine as part of UF Health, invites applications for a full-time tenure or non-tenure track faculty position to serve as a key member of the UF Health Aortic Disease Center team at an exciting time of growth and innovation for the college. The UF Health Aortic Disease Center combines leading-edge science with compassionate and personalized care by providing evidence-based, comprehensive care to patients with aortic disease using a multidisciplinary approach which includes cardiovascular surgery, vascular surgery, cardiology, anesthesia, interventional radiology, genetics and nursing.
UF Health consistently ranks as a high surgical volume center for aortic procedures when compared to other Vizient comprehensive academic medical centers. This large practice offers an outstanding opportunity to advance the field of aortic genetics research and treatment within the Department of Surgery, playing a powerful role in all aspects of this program including the identification of previously unrecognized genetic variants.

The Opportunity
This position will report to the Director of the UF Health Aortic Disease Center at the University of Florida College of Medicine. this position will help patients with genetic conditions in the evaluation, diagnosis and management of their care, providing inpatient consultations as well as outpatient continuing care in our multispecialty clinic in conjunction with the genetic counselors. Our University of Florida campus has incredible resources with 10 colleges and six Health Sciences Colleges on a single campus which allows for cross-and inter-disciplinary collaboration opportunities.
This position is an excellent opportunity for a physician scientist passionate about advancing the field of aortic genetics research and treatment while also playing a powerful role in all aspects of this program including the identification of previously unrecognized genetic variants.
This role will:
Provide genetic clinical care to patients in both an inpatient and outpatient setting in conjunction with genetic counselors.
Evaluate, diagnose and manage patients with genetic conditions.
Support a robust, cross-disciplinary research program in both the clinical and basic science arenas.
Deliver clinical education and advanced training to medical students, residents, and fellows.
Opportunity to represent the Department of Surgery, the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery and the UF Health Aortic Disease Center on committees while also taking part in professional development opportunities and presenting at national conferences.

Applicants must possess an MD degree, be board eligible or board-certified and eligible for Florida medical license.
The successful candidate will have experience in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with genetic aortic conditions and a proven record of excellent clinical care in a patient-and family-centered environment. In addition, basic science research experience is preferred.
