Position Summary: The Director, Research Administration & Sponsored Programs is responsible the development, implementation, administration and continual improvement of the operations and strategic growth of a large, multidisciplinary research organization which includes clinical research administration (regulatory, contracting, study start-up, invoicing, research related billing, award management, and close-out), Federal award management (pre- and post-award programmatic and financial management) and investigator support services (proposal development & submission, grant writing, statistics, & manuscript preparation). The Director builds a sponsored program office infrastructure, provides leadership, builds and models a high-performance culture with strong engagement with investigators, program administrators, and staff.
Minimum Requirements: Ten (10) years of experience in medical research at academic institution, clinical research site, or pharmaceutical/biotech organization Five (5) years of experience in Federal research award management (preferably research awards with NIH, AHRQ, HRSA, etc) Three (3) years of experience with clinical research administration and accounting (i.e. IND and IDE trial award management, regulatory, etc) Five (5) years experience in managerial or supervisory capacity Proven track record of success in grant development Experience with OMB A133 audits and Federally negotiated indirect cost rate proposals strongly preferred
