Description The main focus of this position is to work closely with a staff research scientist to use of sophisticated genetics, imaging and biochemistry to characterize the diversity of synapses in the Drosophila brain. Major responsibilities largely involve biochemistry and the purification of protein complexes from the Drosophila brain from different types of synapses as a first step to determine their composition by mass-spectrophotometry. Proteins identified this way are then validated by addition biochemical and immunohistological studies. Responsibilities require the following skills: 1.
