Who we are looking for:
ASCO is in search of a high performing and motivated Ethics Program Manager to provide advanced program support and subject matter expertise for the Ethics Committee and related task force activities within the Center for Integrity and Law. This role will help to manage the Society Ethics Committee and associated projects, provide directed assistance to the Senior Ethics Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in working across the organization to execute programs.

What you will do:
Serve as a general liaison for bioethics issues across the organization, including ethics education, analysis, and consultation on bioethics topics relevant to oncology
Build and monitor project management plans to support the development, improvement, and execution of ethics and/or compliance related policies, papers, training tools, educational modules, and other work products
Perform scientific literature reviews, draft ethics related manuscripts, meeting proceedings, research plans, or articles to support Ethics Committee programs. Topics may include physician well-being, medical professionalism, medical decision making, physician patient relationships, or other timely issues
Develop strong collaborative relationships with volunteers and colleagues in various departments to support successful program execution
Employ a range of critical thinking skills to deliver consistent results and enhance program success
Support the Senior Ethics Counsel in the management of internal and external committees, to include managing appointments for meetings, drafting meeting materials, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to administer a successful Ethics program
Provide support for compliance projects, trainings, audits, assessments, monitoring and investigations within the Center for Integrity and Law as needed
What you will need in order to be successful:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years of experience
6+ years in a progressively responsible role in program development, program management, policy development, ethics and compliance program support or research assistance
Experience with research administration, grant administration, program administration or management in the health sciences
Experience or education in bioethics or adjacent topics such as, philosophy, law, social science, medicine, or public health
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management and organizational software
Professional demeanor and presence including the ability to handle confidential information and collaborate with professional volunteer members and internal stakeholders
Project management skills related to monitoring programmatic goals and delivering results
Excellent communication skills, including written
Strong analytical, creative problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with ability to make decisions with sound judgement
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
Self-managed with excellent time management skills and proven ability meet deadlines, prioritize, and multi-task
Highly organized with a demonstrated track record of supporting multiple simultaneous projects and ability to deliver results with attention to detail
Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion
Ideal candidates will also contribute:
Graduate training or degree in public health, bioethics, or related field
Project Management Professional (PMP®) or other equivalent training and experience.
Prior professional experience in the fields of public health, bioethics, social sciences or humanities
Work Environment
