Description
The Kramer Lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to study drivers and modifiers of pediatric lung disease, with a special focus on cystic fibrosis. The ideal candidate will have experiences with mouse models of disease and skills including mouse colony maintenance, processing animal tissues for histology, immunofluorescence, Western blots, and RT-PCR. Good communication skills and the willingness to work in a small team setting are required. This candidate will collaborate with research staff, clinical fellows, and physicians. As we also use isolated primary human lung cells as an in vitro model, cell culture expertise would be beneficial. The goal of our lab is to identify therapeutic targets to change the course of pediatric cystic fibrosis lung disease.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, execute, and record laboratory experiments, and analyze the data.
Research and improve current methods and evaluate innovative techniques. Implement this knowledge in the Division/Department.
Present research at laboratory meetings, journal clubs, seminars, and meetings.
Draft, write, and edit scientific reports, papers, journal articles, abstracts, and grants.
Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature, and seminars.
Attend required Cincinnati Children's training sessions and ensure regulatory compliance with all policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE; Required: PhD, MD or a Doctoral degree in a related field. The ideal candidate would have mouse modeling experience and have experience collecting tissues from animals. Preferred: Experience with lung research a plus.
