The Markey Cancer Center’s Research Network is seeking a Clinical Research Project Manager to perform activities to support central operations of a network conducting multi-site studies in the treatment, prevention, and early detection of cancers. Position duties are specific to overall site and study performance, and ensuring data & regulatory compliance, including; research project management, serving as a resource to investigative teams, research training, site visits, regulatory oversight, and contributing to network operations. The MCCRN Research Project Manager serves as the primary liaison to sites in activities associated for the lifecycle of multicenter research studies, including facilitating site start-up, maintaining trial master files, network membership master files, study project teams, assisting the Study Chair to assure the conduct and oversight of quality clinical trials. This position will oversee, guide the research activities for studies of the MCC that are conducted by external partner facilities located throughout Kentucky and surrounding Appalachia. Site visits will be conducted for a variety of purposes, including fostering study site performance and development. The MCCRN Clinical Research Project Manager is responsible for ensuring quality services to MCCRN sites and UK, MCC faculty and staff involved in multicenter clinical trials. In addition, the MCCRN Clinical Research Project Manager is responsible for administering the performance of studies within the portfolio of complex trials, including therapeutic and non-therapeutic trials. The MCCRN Clinical Research Project Manager attends various oversight committees, including the MCCRN Executive Committee and represents participating sites and MCCRN at MCC Data Safety Monitoring Committee meetings. Duties require application of knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, International Council of Harmonisation, and Standard Operating Procedures as well as professional techniques of research professionals, project management to navigate and manage the complexities of multicenter oncology clinical trials. Position requires ability to evaluate complex elements and apply research knowledge to assure quality performance of MCCRN portfolio.
