Assistant Professor without tenure, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Bioethics & Palliative Care
The Division of Bioethics & Palliative Care in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington and the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics at Seattle Children's Research Institute is recruiting a full time Assistant Professor without tenure (commensurate with experience and qualifications) on the faculty scientist track. This position would be multi-year appointments over a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).
Responsibilities will include research relevant to bioethics and/or palliative care supported by independent extramural funding. The successful candidate will be expected to support the department’s commitment to health equity.
This position will have the opportunity to engage in research and scholarship in fields that intersect with bioethics and palliative care, such as law, medicine, decision-science, neuro-science, public health, social psychology, and social sciences. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, candidates with a track record of successfully obtaining extramural grant funding and/or candidates with expertise in research ethics, communication science, health disparities and/or end-of-life care
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Anticipated start date is Fall 2022.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a doctoral or terminal degree (or foreign equivalent) in a relevant discipline and demonstrated expertise in bioethics and/or palliative care scholarship.
