The Albert Gnaegi Center is a leading research center in bioethics with particular emphasis in health care ethics. The Center is dedicated to the teaching, research, and service mission of the University. Center faculty members teach graduate level courses in its PhD program in Health Care Ethics, and also teach professional ethics in the School of Medicine, Valentine School of Nursing, Doisy College of Health Sciences, and College for Public Health and Social Justice. The Center’s interdisciplinary PhD program, which includes dual- and joint-degree programs with medicine, law, theology, and philosophy, trains scholar-practitioners, placing graduates in academic, clinical, and administrative jobs in bioethics and health care ethics. The Center also offers a successful undergraduate minor and major in Bioethics and Health Studies.
