If you are interested in conducting research on topics related to bioethics and health policy, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center is looking for a Research Bioethicist to join Department of Bioethics.
The NIH Clinical Center is a 200-bed research hospital dedicated to translational clinical research. The Department of Bioethics is a center for research, training, and service related to bioethical issues. The Department conducts conceptual, empirical, and policy-related research into bioethical issues and provides high quality ethics consultation services to clinicians, patients, and families of the NIH's Clinical Center.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in bioethics demonstrating ability to provide bioethics consultation, education, and conduct original research. Of critical importance is the candidate's ability to address important and unresolved issues through planning and implementing research programs and providing quality consultation and education. Although not required, the ideal candidate would have a Ph.D. or equivalent and more than 5 years of experience in bioethics.
This is a Title 5 federal appointment in the competitive service. You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. Foreign nationals or legal permanent residents are not eligible for consideration.
