The Miles J. Edwards Chair in Professionalism and Comfort Care was established in the Center for Ethics in Health Care at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in 2011 to lead innovations in professionalism, ethics and approaches to end-of-life ethical issues. This position will expand education, policy development and research in professionalism and care near the end of life at OHSU, in Oregon and nationally.
The ideal candidate will be at the Assistant/Associate Professor level having achieved documented scholarship in ethics with a focus in professionalism and end-of-life care. The Center is looking for a dedicated individual who is interested in being a part of an active, team based group.
This Chair position is at the 50% level. Beyond Chair responsibilities, the individual may have FTE in other OHSU units or possibly an entity outside OHSU. The position includes duties in areas of scholarship 40%, teaching 40% and service 20%. The time allocation shown relates specifically to the 0.5 FTE Chair responsibilities only. This position reports to the Director, Center for Ethics in Health Care.
