The Center for Bioethics and Humanities at SUNY Upstate Medical University (Syracuse, NY) seeks to fill a tenure-track position in bioethics at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants with a significant record of achievement and publications, or of advanced rank at another institution may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.
The Center is particularly interested in applicants enthusiastic about teaching and clinical ethics consultation and whose expertise includes the intersection of law and bioethics. The person in this position will teach bioethics in diverse settings throughout the medical university (including medicine, health professions, and the hospital), provide clinical ethics consultation, and conduct and publish research in bioethics.
The Center for Bioethics and Humanities is an academic department in the College of Medicine at SUNY Upstate with a mission that extends to all four colleges of Upstate and University Hospital. Information about the Center is at www.upstate.edu/cbh/
